RESTRICTIONS: INDOOR DINING, CURFEW, FOOD ITEM REQUIREMENTS

bar service

With restaurants and nightlife establishments mandated to close all indoor and outdoor dining activities due to Covid-19 on March 16, 2020, the NYC Hospitality Alliance has been working with, and sometimes fighting with, New York State government to implement the right protocols to ensure public safety while also supporting the reopening of indoor and outdoor dining as the situation permits. Our advocacy helped lead to the safe reopening in New York City, which includes the lifting of occupancy limitations, elimination of the curfew, removal of the no bar service and the requirement that a “food item” be sold with alcohol, allowing dancing, and more. We will continue advocating until we are safely and fully reopened without Covid-19 restrictions.
