John is the Co-CEO of Aurify Brands, an innovative New York City-based hospitality company that creates, grows and operates networks of category-leading fast casual restaurants including The Little Beet, Melt Shop, Fields Good Chicken, MAKE Sandwich, and The Little Beet Table. The current portfolio comprises 50+ restaurants across six brands in multiple markets including New York, Chicago, and DC, among others. The Aurify operating model is designed for rapid, sustainable expansion that fosters and promotes constant innovation coupled with a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture that attracts and retains great talent.
John has spent much of the past twenty years conceiving and growing start-up businesses in various industries. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, helping to turn around a once-distressed cosmetics company; an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Idealab; and co-founder and co-CEO of Cductive.com, a leading digital distributor of music (an iTunes predecessor). John serves on the NYC Food & Beverage Council recently formed by the de Blasio Administration as well as on the Board of Directors of the NYC Hospitality Alliance.
John graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Economics and from INSEAD, with Dean’s List Honors, with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. John lives in New York City with his wife Suzie and 4 children.
